This morning, we depart Marrakech and drive to the picturesque Imlil Valley, where we’ll check into our guesthouse nestled in the heart of the valley. From here, Group One will embark on a challenging ascent to Toubkal Base Camp. This hike requires prior training, as you’ll ascend from 1,740 meters (5,709 feet) to 3,207 meters (10,522 feet), reaching the base of North Africa’s highest peak. You’ll stay overnight at our mobile camp, with all meals provided. Showers are available at the nearby refuge with dormitory-style accommodations.
Group Two will enjoy a more relaxed afternoon exploring the beauty of Imlil Valley. Unwind in the guesthouse with tailored activities suited to your fitness level. Comfortable mountain footwear is essential. Overnight in private rooms, with all meals included.
Group One:
Begin your ascent early this morning as you embark on the challenging climb to the summit of Mount Toubkal. Today’s trek requires more stamina than the previous day, and the use of walking sticks is highly recommended. The hike to the peak takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes, ascending from 3,207 meters (10,522 feet) to 4,167 meters (13,671 feet). At the summit, enjoy breathtaking 360-degree views, and on clear days, catch a glimpse of the distant sub-Saharan regions and Marrakech. After taking in the views, descend to the base camp (2 hours and 30 minutes) for some well-deserved rest, and spend the afternoon relaxing and
engaging with the local crew.
Group Two:
After a leisurely breakfast, explore the beautiful Imlil Valley with a hike suited to your fitness level. The crew will prepare a picnic lunch by the river or at a scenic spot of your choosing, where you can soak in the stunning surroundings. The area’s natural beauty is also visible from the rooftop of your guesthouse, offering a serene and immersive mountain experience.
Group One: For those still eager for more climbing, you have the option to summit Tizi Ouannoums at 3,700 meters (12,139 feet). This trek is less challenging than the Toubkal ascent and takes approximately 3 hours, including the descent. If you prefer to rest, you can make your way down to the guesthouse after breakfast to
meet up with Group Two for a shared meal (4 hours).
Group Two: Continue with activities tailored to your fitness level, exploring the scenic valley or simply relaxing. If you wish, you can also participate in preparing lunch with the local host, offering a rich cultural experience before both groups reunite for a meal.
Start your day with an early morning yoga session, setting a peaceful tone for the day. Afterwards, participate in a traditional Moroccan cooking class, learning how to prepare couscous, Morocco’s national dish—especially enjoyed on Fridays. Savor the meal you’ve prepared before we depart in the afternoon for the Agafay Rocky Desert. Here, you’ll have the option to ride ATVs or camels, capturing the
magic of the desert sunset. Alternatively, you can unwind by the pool with a book, a drink, or a swim, finding tranquility in the serene surroundings.
In the evening, gather for dinner and a storytelling session around
the fire, beneath a starlit sky far from the city’s glow
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before departing for Essaouira. Our first stop is the Argan Forest, where, if we’re lucky, we’ll witness the unique sight of goats climbing trees. Next, we visit an Argan cooperative to learn about the tree’s incredible benefits, both in culinary and cosmetic uses, and discover why its products are renowned worldwide. The highlight of the day is a winery tour, where you’ll enjoy a tasting of organic wines and a delightful lunch under the shade of olive and argan trees. Upon arrival in Essaouira, relax and head to the historic Skala for happy hour, watching the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean.
Begin the day with a cooking class featuring Essaouira’s famous fish dishes, all prepared with the region’s signature argan oil. If fish isn’t your preference, you’ll have the option to choose your own menu, guided by culinary experts as you learn why Moroccan cuisine is celebrated as one of the finest in the world. In the late afternoon, indulge in a traditional Hammam and massage, rejuvenating your skin with essential oils derived from argan. This immersive experience promises relaxation and a deeper connection to Moroccan wellness traditions.
